They are the elected officials through barangay elections conducted by the COMELEC in order to lead and govern the whole barangay they belong to. They are part of the Local Government Unit that handle the smallest political unit that is the barangay. They are composed of one chief with a secretary and a treasurer and eight legislative councils, and each council has its own committee in where he/she is the leader. These committees are: 1. Peace and Order 2. Appropriations, Finance and Ways and Means Committee 3. Education Committee 4. Health Committee 5. Agriculture Committee 6. Tourism Committee 7. Infrastructure Committee 8. Youth and Sports Committee.
Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) is led by the SK chairman with seven members (councils), a secretary and a treasurer. The SK chairman and the councils are elected by the members of the Katipunan ng Kabataan (Youth Assembly) in elections conducted by the COMELEC. The elected SK chairman will hold the Youth and Sports Committee of the barangay as the 8th council. The SK is part of the Katipunan ng Kabataan with members have the ages of 15 to 21 years old.
They are the old folks in the community that have reached the age of 60. They are worthy of respects and one is the giving of their due discounts on products and services as specified in the Republic Act 9257. Strongly we recommend them to apply for the Seniors Citizens Cards.
It is the Quirino Hill Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association to carry people from Quirino Hill to Plaza and vice-versa. They really carry an important task by transporting people to their homes, workplaces, schools, etc, with care and in safe manner. We should thank them once in a while even though we pay our fares.
The Quirino Hill Community Water System is an organization based in Quirino Hill, which is composed of elected volunteer officials, directors, employees and members residing in Quirino Hill to manage and utilize the community’s water resource through a system owned by the community itself in order to supply the members with serviceable water with humane and less dues collected from the members just to keep the system working.
This group is one of the primary concerns because it is undoubtedly has a tremendous effect on the general development of s community. If these students were rightly molded, the development of a community they belong would be accelerated and directed to its due course. Concerned people often say: ‘They’re the next in line to fill our shoes.’
It is group of monastic people, church goers, evangelists, pastors, religious ministries, believers and others that is very essential parameter in the community because it shares to others some high grounding preaches, positive moral counsels and boosting spiritual foods.
The most daring group and must also be the most naïve. They keep on working and working or going on and on until they found their dreams or until their dreams come true.
A group of warriors who just sit in front of computers and get online then do their fighting against the cyber mmorpg beasts or against other online cyber-warriors represented by mmorpg characters.
If the tambays settle in one particular place, this group is a nomad or mobile. When they are out, they just roam around the place most of the times but not always really.
After the hard day’s work, we find our way to the liquor store and find a place to take some drinks to wash the dust out from our throats. Some may go home early and some may not, but we just thank God if we wake up early in the next morning to find again our way to the hard day’s work.
A more general group with members that are working or not, $$$ or not, drinkers or not, students or not, elders, youngsters, etc. that hangs around the corners for catharsis or etc., and with or without drinks they tease each other, have fun, tell stories and talk about almost everything. They also extend helping hands in the neighborhood and/or in the whole community, themselves help each other also, and sometimes they offer what they can only share for the betterment of the place they live in.
